Our Open House gives you the fantastic opportunity to learn more about how you can get started on your in-demand career as a Continuing Care Assistant or Early Childhood Educator in Nova Scotia.

Date: Wednesday, April 1st, 2026

Time: 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm AST with a special presentation by our Program Managers and a campus tour.

Location: OICC Halifax Campus | 1801 Hollis Street (4th Floor), Halifax, NS B3J 3N4

Who Attends: Anyone interested in exploring their options to become an in-demand CCA or ECE!

Schedule

3:30 pm - 4:00 pm | Meet with key staff members, get a personalized campus tour, explore our CCA skills lab and ECE classroom, and have your specific questions answered.

4:00 pm - 5:00 pm | Special presentation with our CCA and ECE Program Managers to learn more about:

Program details and what to expect as an OICC student.
Future CCA & ECE career opportunities in Nova Scotia.
Scope of work on the job and a look into what your future rewarding career could look like.

We will also have current CCA and ECE students join us so you can learn about their training experiences at OICC!

Continuing Care Assistant Certificate Program

The Continuing Care Assistant Certificate program will help you develop the academic knowledge and valuable on-the-job skills to thrive as a qualified CCA.

Qualification: Certificate

Program Length: 26 weeks (6.5 months)

Training: Guaranteed clinical and mentorship placements

Format: In-person, daytime classes at OICC Halifax campus

Scholarships: Generous scholarships and flexible tuition payment plans available for all students.

Eligible for Nova Scotia Student Assistance (loans and grants for domestic students).

Early Childhood Education Diploma Programs

During the Early Childhood Education 50-week (daytime in-person) or 55-week Hybrid Diploma (evening hybrid or 100% online) programs, you will develop the academic knowledge and valuable on-the-job skills to learn how to make a meaningful impact on young children's lives.

Qualification: Diploma | ECE Level II classification

Program Length: 50 weeks or 55 weeks

Training: Guaranteed practicum placements

Format: In-person daytime, hybrid evening, and online evening classes (domestic students can study 100% online from anywhere in Nova Scotia!)

Scholarships: Generous scholarships available for all students. A $2,500 bursary is offered through the Government of Nova Scotia for domestic students who reside in Nova Scotia, and flexible tuition payment plans are available for all students.

Eligible for Nova Scotia Student Assistance (loans and grants for domestic students) and Loan Forgiveness.

English Language Training

Do you need to improve your English skills before starting your career training? Our campus is conveniently connected to our Oxford International Halifax English School! With 35+ years of trusted English language instruction, you can improve your English skills through our pre-sessional English programs and get direct entry into your chosen OICC program without the need for a language level test! Continuing Care Assistant

Qualified Continuing Care Assistants (CCAs) are in high demand in Nova Scotia due to the growing aging population. Long-term care facilities are running short of necessary staffing - there are a variety of open positions at this time, and this number is continuing to grow.

Guaranteed Program Scholarships

We offer all students guaranteed and generous scholarships to ensure career training is affordable for everyone.

English to Career Fast-Track Scholarship

8 weeks of free English classes and affordable pricing for any additional weeks required to improve your English language skills before enrolling in our CCA/ECE programs. (Available for domestic students, terms and conditions apply.)

Newcomer to Canada Scholarship

All eligible newcomers will receive a $1,500 scholarship applied to their program tuition fee. (Available for protected persons or new permanent residents within the last two years. Terms and conditions apply.)

Referral Program

Past or current OICC Halifax campus and EFL students can refer someone they know and earn a $250 gift card! Plus, the person they referred will also earn a $100 gift card once they enroll in the program. Terms and conditions & eligibility criteria apply.
